drug was injected intravenously every 3 days, starting
with an initial dose of 1-3 mu and with a subsequent in-

TEXT: This is a report on concentration measurements made on a cylindrical
h droven plasma, which was located in a homoCeneous quasistatic longitudi-

nal magnetic field H 0, and a high-frequency magnetic field in the same
direction. Two molybdenum wire probes were used to estimate the charged
particle concentration; probing was done also rith the 3-cm pulses of a
klystron-renerator. The experimental arrangement is shown in Fig. 1, the
probe circuit diagram in F-*s-- 3- Fi5- 5 is shown as an example of the
oscillograms obtained (Figs. 4-9); the upper oscillograms show the probe
currents of various pairs of probes, the lower oneo, show the signals of

accustic resorance. The resonance frequencies are near the geometrical

TITLE: Flow birefringence of polyethylene in-solutions

TEXT: The optical anisotropy of branched and linear polyethylene was de-
termined by measuring the flow birefringence of solutions comprising three
fractions of high-pressure polyethylene and a nonfractionated low-pressure
polyethylene in decalin, xylene, and tetralin. This was done at 85, 100,
105, and1200 C in a thermostat. The birefringence'was measured with a halfF
shade compensator. The flow optimeter has*been described earlier (E. F. -
Frisman, Syuy Mao, Vysokomolekulyarnyye soyedineniya 3, 2, 1961). Results$
the anisotropy of the solutions is constant over a wide range.of concentra-
tions; it is +60-10-25 cm3 for solutions in xylene and tetralin, and
+30-10-25 CM3 for solutions .in decalin;'the anisotropy is almost independent
of the temperature. Structure. and type of the solvents greatly influence

ABSTRACT: Bornite, chalcosine, stromeyerite (shtromeyerit), and arCentite
are found mainly in the upper zones of the individual beds of
the Rudnyy Altay deposit. Some scientints consider them exclu-
sively as formations of the zone of the secondary enrichment
(Ref 2). In this connection hypojene varieties of the first
three minerals which are found in associations with galena,
sphalerite, and tennantite occur without any doubt (Ref 1). The
author succeeded in determining that in the mentioned deposit
bornite, chalcosine, and a number of other minerals associated
with them form an independent paragenesis which is spatially
connected with the baryto - deposit in the upper parts of the
ore body. This paragenesis is hypogene and was formed later

the Zmeinogoral Polymetallic Ore Deposits of the Altay
by hydrothermal solutions of different composition and under
other physicochemical conditions. There has always been the
opinion, as is known, that in the Altai no stages exist of
the formation of polymetallic ores. In this connection the
whole variety of the mineral associations in the ores and the
appearance of some rare minerals were reZ;arded as the result
of metanorphous transformations only after the deposition of
the ores (Ref 2). The paragenctic association of are minerals
found by the author represents the latest stage of hypogene
mineralization. -t confirms the multi-3ta.-T
ge-character of the
process of hypogene mineralization in the Zmeinogorak ore de-
posit. The differencesin the mentioned association indicate
a lower temperature of the solutions as well as a considerably
higher oxyger potential as compared to the main stage. The
investigations carried out by the author confirmed the allegation
made by V.P.11ekhoroshev that the anomalous enrichment of this
ore deposit with silver in connected with an intensive mani-
festation of an independent stage essentially of a silver nature
of hydrothermal activity. Reports are given in publications on
