ABSTRACT- The purpose of the investigation was to ascertain and compaxe the useful-
ness of various cesium spectral lines for 'P1 I nostics purposes. To this end,
a method described earlier (zhPsi, v. 3. 201) 1965) was use to calculate the con-
stantus of the quadratic Stark effect for more than 40 spectral lines of cesium. The
limiting charged-particle density that can be measured with the aid of each line was
detuenmined. The dc arc (4 - 8 amp) was produced between carbon electrodes, with a
mixture of cesium salts with carbon pressed in one of the electrodes in different proJ,
portions. The emission spectra of the cesium plasma were photographed with a DES-13
spectrograph. Eight spectral lines were chosen for the diagnostics, and their broaden,
ing under different types of interactions was calculated and tabulated. The experi-
mental contours of these lines are derived and the concentrations of the charged

particles and neutral atoms are calculated for a dc arc plasma. Methods of improving
the accuracy of the results are discussed. The influence of various interactions on
~Le broadening of the spectral -lines of cesium is evaluated (Van der Waals interactio.
Stark effect in inhomogeneous fields, resonant interaction, and Doppler broadening).
The accuracy with which the line width can be used to determine the concentration is
0% for charged particles and -50% for neutral-atom concentrations. The results ob-

tained by different methods and with different lines were for most part In agreement.

Abstract The mesenchymal base of the 3-month-old fetal gin-give. con-
tains a significant number of small nerve trunks consisting
of bare axis cylinders. With the 4th month of uterine life,
these grow into the lower layers of the epithelium, where
they form knob and loop-like endings. The myelinization
of the fibers begins in 6-month-old fetuses. Growth changes
in the mucous membrane of the human gingiya are characteri-
zed by decreased number of cells, hardening, increase in

Abstract The epithelium of a newly formed gingival section is
thicker than the normal one. The sub-epithelial tissue
resembles in appearance sear tissue, that has been subjec-
ted to gross fiber changes. In the hornified epithelium,
besides thin axons, there is to be found a large number
of thick ones. Thick axones, covered by pulpy membrane,
are located in the underlying connective tissue. Also to
be found are nerve eel-Is that have undergone degenerative

TEXT: The losses of fluorine introduced in the form of NaF have been
determined both while fritting glaze mixtures (19-5-31.2%) and while
meltinL them into ceramic substances (17.9-69.2%). It is shown that the
losses of F are maximum when the glaze coating is thinnest. The total
losses of F when fritting and melting boron-free and lead-free glazes
are 25-64',j. The'moment at which all the F has been distilled can be
established by step7by-step titration of the separate fractions in the
distillate, and det'erminati-)n of F by the distillation method is thus
