Pursuant to a recent review of the subject task order, the contractor
estimates that additional funds in the amount of $11,967 will be required to
complete the effort as contemplated by the scope of work thereunder. A brief
summary and breakdown of the above amount is as follows:

The above additional funds are required due mainly for the following
1. Considerable plastic effort was performed on the subject task order.
Due to the fact only a small quantity of antennas were to be
delivered, a majority of the fabricated parts were handbuilt which
in turn increase the cost of the parts in excess of expectations.

2. Sectionalization of the antennas so that three antennas are contained
in one resulted in costs not originally contemplated. It should be
noted that the frequency range of the entire structure is 30-1000 mc.
Through the employment of sectionalization, two additional antenna
ranges are provided at 75-1000 me and 200-1000 mc.
3. The contractor employed a different antenna design and construction
than originally contemplated at the time of its quotation for the
subject program. The employment of the new design and construction
increased the cost of the project.

4. Due to the employment of the above referred to design and construction
antenna insulators were required to hold the elements. These insulators
were not originally contemplated and therefore increased the cost of
the program.

The above quotation is predicated upon the award of a mutually accept-
able amendment to the subject task order.
Delivery of five (5) of the subject antennas will be accomplished by
11 March 1960. The instruction books connected therewith will be delivered on
or before 25 March 1960. In addition, it is requested that the completion
date of the subject task order be extended to 1 June 1960 so that all costs
connected therewith can be billed without being subject to suspension for being
incurred after the expiration date. Purchases from outside vendors normally
are not billed and paid until 30 to 60 days after their incurrance.
Favorable consideration of the enclosed quotation is respectfully
requested. Representatives of the contractor will be readily available in the
event that further contractual or technical discussion is necessary. In matters
