The word is beginning to go around
Moscow that a number of cabinet-level
personnel shifts are in the offing. It
is expected that an announcement on
this will come early next month when
the "legislature"--the Supreme Soviet--
will be in session for a few days.
There are no signs at this point
that any dramatic changes are in the
works

President Makarios is contemplat-
ing a visit to the US--Washington as
well as the UN--and Latin America this
fall. Makarios sees this as part of a
major diplomatic push aimed at garner-
ing support for the Greek-Cypriot posi-
tion since he evidently expects the
latest Greek-Turkish talks to break
down.
Meanwhile, Makarios is maintaining
his hard line against the Turkish Cyp-
riots
