South Vietnam 2. Vietnam 3. Greece retail prices in Saigon have leveled off again. Rice supplies have increased and there has been a corre- sponding drop in price. The vote of confidence on Kanel- lopoulos' government, scheduled for to- day, has been put off until Friday. We think Kanellopoulos wants more time to scrounge up support, but he may yet de- cide to dissolve parliament and preside over new elections whether ex-premier Papandreou likes it or not. Security forces remain on alert against any fur- ther demonstrations by Papandreou's sup- porters. 50X1 50X1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2015/07/24 : CIA-RDP79T00936A005100190001-0 50X1 50X1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2015/07/24 : CIA-RDP79T00936A005100190001-0 4, Israel-Syria 5. Soviet Union 6. Soviet Union The Israelis have reinforced their troops along the disputed border and the Syrians seem to be bracing for new hos- tilities. We believe, however, that the Israelis are only backing up their "right" to cultivate the area. Tel Aviv proved its military superiority last week, and, barring some serious provocation, prob- ably will not start another major engage- ment. The Syrians fired at an Israeli tractor yesterday, but missed. The Egyptians say Moscow will come up with another 400,000 tons of wheat, deliveries to start in May. But the terms--considerably stiffer than last December's contract for 250,000 tons and comparable to those of the US Com- modity Credit Corporation--reflect Mos- cow's unwillingness to be saddled with Egypt's wheat requirements. 50X1 50X1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2015/07/24 : CIA-RDP79T00936A005100190001-0 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2015/07/24 : CIA-RDP79T00936A005100190001-0 Top Secret Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2015/07/24 : CIA-RDP79T00936A005100190001-0
