c. We cannot yet estimate
crop damage, since the weather has
been too poor for reconnaissance
over the eastern part of the island.
Agricultural Czar Rodriguez said
Tuesday that damages to the sugar
crop could not be calculated for
some time.
? d. One Cuban refugee with
long experience in sugar growing
and processing estimates a loss of
50-percent for the 1963-64 and 1964-
65 crops. He assumes that local
rail lines have been devastated.

NOTES
A. Guatemala /
B. USSR Khrushchev's whereabouts have gone unreported
for tendays following his tour of agricultural areas
in the southern Ukraine. We assume he is resting
somewhere on the Black Sea. In his absence presidium
member Brezhnev, with an occasional assist from
Podgorny, has been presiding at party functions and
Kosygin has been handling government affairs.
