Thank you for your letter of 22 May 1945. I don't
think there is aa$thing more to say an this subjeot until I
get out. rzo gt, poa.ssly this. First, although I na greatly
flattered by your satinets of that I am doing ham in Washington,
I feel sure that at least as good work can be done by several
ama to are hereabouts and would be mailable. Secondly. I
have not proposed oaaing out with any rosantio ideas either
about the pleasure of living in the Theater or about the
duration of the assignment. I do think I realism that it is
an extremely rugged theater and oertsinly realise that any
astir-it 'add be for 19 months or more. Let's leave this,
however, now until we can talk it over in person. Hest regards
