SUBJECT: Return of Wreckage of A-12 #125 to Area 51
1. On 10 January 19671 I Deputy
Chief, Security Staff, Area 51, advised telephonically
that two flat-bed truck. loads of the wreckage of A-12
#125 had been returned to Area 51 last night (9 Jan 1967).
advised that because of the size of the pieces
it had been necessary to place same in boxes for return
to the Area. An Area 51 helicopter escorted the trucks
and assured that no one was following before the trucks
turned into the Area. The whole operation was completed
securely, without incident.
2.I ladvised that it would be at least two
more days before the remainder of the wreckage could be
returned to the Area.. He advised further that because of
the terrain it would be most difficult to be assured that
all of the wreckage had been recovered.
