SUBJECT : Recommendation for Involuntary Retirement -
Mr. John L. Poe
REFERENCE Memorandum for Mr. John L. Poe from
Director of Communications, dated

1. This memorandum submits a recommendation for your approval;
this recommendation is contained in paragraph 4.
2. Mr. John L. Poe, GS-12, Records Administration Officer, Office
of Communications, Support Services, has been recommended by his Career
Service for involuntary retirement under the provisions of Headquarters
Regulation 20-S0m. The purpose of this proposed retirement, to which
Mr. Poe is agreeable, is to assist the Office of Communications to reduce
its personnel surplus. If such retirement is approved, Mr. Poe requests
an effective date of 29 February 1972.
3. Mr. Poe has been designated a participant in the CIA Ret#rement
and -usability System and meets the technical requirements for invAluntary
retirement under the System. He is 47 years old with over 25 yeazl of
Federal service. This service includes over 17 years with the Agcy of
which more than 5 years were in qualifying service overseas. The Director'
of Communications and the CIA Retirement Board have recommen ed that
his ir-roluntary retirement be approved. I endorse these recommendations.
4. It is recommended that you approve the involuntary retirement of
Mr. John L. Poe under the provisions of Headquarters Regulation 20-50mn.
