Under the FOIA 5 USC 552 I request,of the following
docurrrei-~ts for ~o~urn~nts containing the following information) be
provided to me:
All CIA documents about:
Todor Zhivkov's overthrow in November 1989 and all the
events related to it.
I am interested in CIA documents only, not: reprints of generally
available news articles or similar publications.
Aside from CIA-produced documents, I also wish to obtain any
information collected or intercepted by the CIA with regard to a
possible Bulgarian connection to the above issue.
To help determine my status for purposes of applicability of any
fees, you should know that I am a reporter for 24 Hours -national
daily newspaper in Sofia,. Bulgaria. Therefore this request falls into
the news media fee category..
I am asking for a waiver of fees for this request. Disclosure of
the requested information to our. news organization is in the public
interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public
