I am requesting your c4Jnsideration, and that of your principals, of a proposal to publish the Weekly Report on the Situation in South Vietnam on Fridays instead of Wednesdays after the first of the year. In effect, this means that delivery would be made on Saturday morning. 2. This proposal is being made on a contingency basis in the light of indications that the "Vietnam Principals" may be meeting regularly on Saturday mornings. If these indications are borne out, then it would be my intent to put the new publication schedule into effect sometime around the middle of January. reporting schedules would be at the Mission's discretion. 11 3. Other considerations aside, I believe this change could be effected without inflicting major changes in field reporting schedules and practices. We are already updating MACV weekly reports, and the Mission Weekly can be similarly, updated. The field would be notified of the new publication schedule and asked to keep the Washington deadline in mind for the filing of spot reports. Any other changes in field RICHARD D.
