This acknowledges receipt of your 3 January 2005 letter requesting
records under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Specifically, your request is for records pertaining to:
1. Any and all charges and complaints and/or amendments
thereto filed by Shahla Pourgholam against the Central
Intelligence Agency, or any of its employees;
2. Any and all charges and complaints and/or amendments
thereto filed by Shahla Pourgholam against Aegis
Communications, Inc.;
3. Any and all charges and complaints and/or amendments
thereto filed by Shahla Pourgholam against an individual or
entity;
4. Any and all signed and unsigned statements in the
possession, custody or control of the Central Intelligence
Agency or any of its agents, representatives or officers made
by Shahla Pourgholam; and
5. Any and all documents, memoranda, reports, records and
writings, in whatever form, in the possession, custody or
control of the Central Intelligence Agency or any of its agents,
representatives or officers which were obtained by or utilized
by the Central Intelligence Agency in the investigation or
processing of charges filed by Shahla Pourgholam.
We have assigned your request the reference number above. Please use this
number when corresponding with us so that we can easily identify it.
 To conduct an effective search of our files for information on an
individual, we need as much identifying information as possible. Please
provide us with your subject's full name, date and place of birth, and
citizenship status. Without these we may be unable to distinguish between
individuals with the same or similar names.
In addition, the Privacy Act of 1974 requires that you furnish a signed,
notarized statement from the individual authorizing us to release personal
information. We can search without this authorization, but if we should locate
relevant records, we would have to withhold information that, if released,
would be an unwarranted invasion of that person's privacy. If the person is
deceased, we need some evidence of death, such as a death certificate, an
obituary, or press statement.
We will hold your request in abeyance for 45 days from the date of this
letter awaiting the information requested in paragraphs 2 and 3 above.
