The office of the Information and Privacy Coordinator received (on
8 September 2005) your undated Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request
for "a copy of the CIA Inspector General's Report on the 9/11 mishaps
committed by staff of CI.9~ that may have precluded the stopping of the
9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center." We have assigned your
request the reference number above. Please use this number when
corresponding so that we can identify it easily.
We received an earlier FOIA request for the same report. We will send
you the same CIA-originated record, if it is released, once that request has
been completed. Because of our backlog, I cannot say with certainty when that
will be.
For your information, the FOIA authorizes federal agencies to collect
fees for records services. However, because search and review fees are borne
solely by the original requester,. you are responsible-only for a reproduction
charge of ten cents per page beyond the first 100 pages, which are free.
We will contact you again when we have completed processing the
original request. Meanwhile, we appreciate your patience..
