REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION XVI
1. (S) This report provides documentation of a remote
viewing session conducted for the purpose of orienting
a remote viewer to the protocol which will be used in
the remote viewing training program at Stanford Research
Institute (SRI), Menlo Park, California.
2. (S) The impressions of the remote viewer during this
session showed little or no correlation to the target.
This session was conducted in the early morning hours
prior to normal duty hours in an attempt to find a working
environment free from disrupting ambient room noise. The
remote viewer appeared frustrated throughout the session.
He was dissatisfied because he got very little imagery
throughout the session.
3. (S) The protocol used for this session was modified
from that which will be used in later training. The
protocol to be used in later training is detailed in the
document, Standard Remote-Viewing Protocol (Local Targets)
by Harold E. Puthoff and Russell Targ, November 1978.
This session's protocol was modified in that a randomly
generated, preselected target was not used due to the
unavailability of the target pool in the early hours of
the morning. In lieu of a randomly generated, preselected
target the "outbounder" or "beacon" simply chose a site
which, in his opinion, was unique and identifiable.
4. (S) Following is a transcript of the viewer's
impressions during the remote viewing session. At TAB A
are drawings made by the viewer reference his impressions
of the target site. At TAB B are photographs of the
target site. At TAB C is a post-session interview.

type shape.
#28: All right.
#47.5: Very, very vague.

#47.5: Ah. . . another interesting shape that. . .
kind of looks like a radar disk or something.
#28: Go on.

Now as this picture becomes clear. . . simply
move back away from the face and look around
the target area. . . and describe the area to
me.

back to a large window.

feeling he was sitting . . . at a counter
somewhere. . . It was like a restaurant or
something and then there were some tables behind
him and then the big window.

up at a roof or an overhang.

sides.

#28: Move. . . up. . . slowly now. . . only about
100 feet. . . just about 100 feet, that's all
. . . Look down. . . and describe the area.
#47.5: The only image I got trying to get an aerial
view is a . . . triangle that was bisected
down the center. . .
#28: Okay. Would you like to draw now?

#28: Whenever you're ready.

#47.5: It didn't seem like I was able to a . . . to
really relax enough and detach myself. It
might have been too quiet. Ha ha. I'm used
to working in such a noisy environment.

shape something like that. That's when I
remarked that reminded me or a radar type (not
audible).

1. (S) Post-session interviews are conducted after the
completion of a session to provide the selected remote
viewer with the opportunity to express himself concerning
his viewing experience.
2. (S) During the post-session interview #47.5 again
expressed his dissatisfaction with his ability to image
during the session. He noticed a marked difference from
his previous remote viewing experiences. He said he was
unable to relax sufficiently and establish the same level
of concentration he had been able to do previously. The
normal ambient room noise was greatly reduced because
of the early hour. The remote viewer stated that because
he was no longer troubled by the normal noise associated
with the room, the mechanical sound of the tape recorder
became a dominant perceptive sensation.
3. (S) The relationship between #28 and #47.5 remains
in tact. Conduct of a remote viewing session during the
early morning hours prior to the participants normal waking
hours appears, in this case, to be dysfunctional. Perhaps
interruption of an individuals established biological
rhythm inhibits the remote viewing process.
