1. SIGNIFICANCE : THIS BOARD REFLECTS
DAYS PHOTOGRAPHY ~PS OF
OVER THE HAIPHONG
PORT AREA SAME
AREA.
DESCRIBED HIS TRIP TO HAIPHONG, THE SIGHTS IN THE Wktr ARM
AND TEE FEARS OF THE SEAMEN OF A U. S. AIR. STRIKE ON THE
PORT ITSELF.
ONE OF ; OTOGRAPHS SHOWS A U.S. NAVY
"P5M-2" RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT OVERFLYING THE "KOSKO" SOME-
WHERE IN THE GULF OF TONKIN.
A SOVIET "ANDIZAN" CLASS FREIGHTER IS ALSO VISIBLE ON
THE KH AND TEE GROUND PHOTOGRAPHS. THIS IS PROBABLY THE
"ZAYSON", A 3300 TON SHIP WHICH, ON THIS TRIP TO NORTH VIETNAM
CARRIED STEEL PIPE AND OTHER STEEL PRODUCTS. AGAIN, THIS IS
A U.S. NAVY PHOTOGRAPH OF THE "ZAYSON" IN THE GUI' OF TONKIN.
ONE POLISH SHIP, THE "KRASZEWSKI", WAS IN PORT AT THIS
TIME. THE PRIME IDENTIFICATION KEY FOR THIS SHIP IS TEE
RADICALLY CANTED MASTS JUST FORWARD OF THE SUPERSTRUCTURE.
THIS FEATURE WAS VISIBLE ON THE KH AND THE GROUND PHOTOGRAPHS
AS WERE THE UNLOADING LIGHTERS AND CRANES BESIDE THE SHIP.
THE "KRASZEWSKI" WAS ALSO OVERFLOWN IN THE GULF OF TONKIN BY
THE U.S. NAVY.
