Casey Director of Central Intelligence Washington, D.C. 20505 I have enclosed a copy of my letter to the Secretary of State in reference to one of my committee staff member's foreign travel. Dr. Michael Pillsbury will be visiting Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. I have enclosed an itinerary listing the dates and arrival times in these countries. briefing Dr. Pillsbury at the level of STAT security c earance the CIA holds for him. Of course, I understand that your staff cannot provide operational details to Senate staff who are not on the Senate Intelligence Committee; nevertheless I found that the general background briefings that were provided for Dr. Pillsbury during his previous foreign travel were extremely useful, especially with respect to each nation's perspective of the United States, each nation's general foreign policy strategy and each nation's relationship with the Soviet Union.
