Items of Interest
1. MIGs in Nicaragua
Extensive telephonic briefings were given to HPSCI, SSCI,
HAC/Defense and SAC/Defense cleared staff on the possible
shipment of MIGs to Nicaragua.
3. Senator Leahy
With Senator Huddleston's election defeat, Senator Leahy
is in line to become Ranking Minority Member of the Senate
Agriculture Committee. This may prevent him from becoming
Vice Chairman of SSCI should Senator Moynihan retire.
4. Senator Moynihan
Senator Moynihan's travel plans currently include only
Israel and Greece. He is still trying for a Polish visa.

Future Events
2. Senator Nunn Trip
Planning for Senator Sam Nunn's (D., GA) late-November
trip to India-Pakistan is proceeding, but with only Senator J.
Bennett Johnston (D., LA) joining the CODEL thus far. Senator
John Glenn (D., OH) may throw in with them soon. Senator Nunn
will be seeking extensive HQS briefings circa 21-22 November,
prior to his trip.
