SUBJECT: New Building Consolidated Registries
1. We have been holding periodic discussions with your
representatives on the subject of your plans to create
consolidated and/or standardized registries within Headquarters.
These discussions have been extremely helpful to us in the basic
design of the new building. We'have carefully coordinated the
placement of data access facilities and copy centers in the new
building to permit a more efficient and controlled flow of
information to components.
2. Design has now progressed to the point where we must
begin focusing on the design of each registry to ensure that
sufficient space in the right configuration is blocked to fulfill
your function for each office. Our schedule requires that we
complete this phase of space planning by the end of this fiscal
year so that the architectural-engineering firm can proceed with
final design and engineering of the interior spaces. This will
require substantial assistance from your staff in defining this
final level of detail.
3. It is requested that a representative of your office be
detailed to the New Building Project Office for the period April
through September 1984 to work with us and the customer offices
in finalizing the plans for new building registries.
