PAGES REFERENCES In August 1950, a number of technical'-and administrative employees, as well as a considerable number of workers, were dismissed at the Molotov Radio Plat in Minsk. Most all of those affected were persons who bad not held 'Soviet nationality prior to 1939. At the same time the plant was comverted* into a secret one, and the main production effort was switched over to secret appliances, apparently military radio equipment, while the radio sets became accessory production items (no details on the new products or as to whether the plant bore a designation number). 2. Until 1950s the Radio Zavod IIani Molotov, produced popular- priced radio sets only, namely the Pioner, Minsk, and Belorus. In August 1950, a number of technical and administrative employees, as well as a considerable member of workers, were dismissed; almost all of those affected were persons who had not held Soviet nationality prior to 1939. The plant had five or six sections, including a mechanical shop, an assembly shop, a carpentry shop, and a galvanizing section. The plant was believed to asaufacture only radio sets for civilian use, including the Belorus types and television sets.
