There, is a spur railr-ad line to the factory, 3. Farm belonging to the Ruse prison. 4. A newly constructed electrical power plant called "Flektro Vlak." The generator and steam boilers are mounted on rails so that the power plant can be mobile if so desired. The plant supplies power only for industrial plants in Ruse. 5. Transformer center. The transformer station receives high tension lines that come from a point on the edge of the Danube about 200-300 meters east of the oil railroad station (Figure 19). These high tension lines are connected with the underwater electric cable line coming from Rumania. Part of the city's electric supply comes through. this transformer station. "Ivan Dechev" Bu,eket and Shovel Factory. Located in a small, 1-story building 500-600 meters east of the "Georgi Dimi?t,rov" Machinery Factory. Produces buckets of various sizes, shovels and pitchforks. 11. Farm belonging to the Ruse prison. 12. Unidentified army supply unit barracks, storehouses and work shops. 13. "Nayden Kirov" Electrical Equipment Factory. Located on a slope so that the front portions are 4-5 stories while the 'back portions are 2-3 stories. Housed in a 40-50 x 30 meter building. The factory works in one shift only and produces articles such as fuses, plugs, switches, electric cording, etc. 23. City market. 24. Carpentry school. 25. Timber storehouse. 26. Church. 27. Old cemetary. 28. Motorcycle racetrack. 29. Garage and repair shops for municipal buses. 30. "Vela Piskova" Cotton T-xtile Factory. The factory installation occupies a large area and there are many separate buildings. About 2000 people, mostly women, are employed and work in three shifts. The factory manufactures coarse white calico, cambric, printed cottons, cotton flannel, tenting and material used for summer military uniforms. 31. "Khristo Botev" Soap Factory. 32. "Georgi Dimitro?v" Machinery Factory. Located about 10-15 meters from the railroad line. The 'buildings existing prior to 1950-51 have been demolished and new buildings are under construction. The factory is located in a 10-12 acre area. It produces all varieties of large and small farm equipment. The shipping of the products is handled from a new loading platform of the Army supply unit located 400-500 meters northeast of the factory. The factory area is surrounded by walls and is guarded by the militia. Prior to 1947, it belonged to the "Muelhaupt" Company, but is now state owned.
