An order for the confiscation of the property and effects of the 40,000 residents of Budapest expelled in 1951 was issued only in March 1952. The same order also confiscated houses owned by residents who were not working, permitting them to occupy not more than twtr rooms. 2. Expulsion orders issued in 1951 were of three different kinds: a. People receiving the order in-white forms were allowed 24 hours' grace and luggage up to 500 kg. These deportees were sent to distant villages. - b. Those receiving the order on a yellow form were allowed to take- Up to 50 kg. of luggage and were sent to labor camps. e. Those receiving the order on a green form were allowed to take.. nothing with them and were dispatched to an unknown, destination, 3.
