1. This memorandum will answer the reference request for
certain information concerning James J. Bernstein, who was born on
20 February 1910 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and who died in an
airplane crash, in line of duty, at Mingaladon Airstrip, Rangoon.,
Burma, on 30 May 1945:
