This memorandum will answer the reference request for certain information concerning James J. Bernstein, who was born on 20 February 1910 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and who died in an airplane crash, in line of duty, at Mingaladon Airstrip, Rangoon., Burma, on 30 May 1945: b. Branch of service upon entering the d. Rank at the time of death STAT STAT Corps of Military Police, U.S. Army STAT A campaign ribbon (not further described), a Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon, and a Good Conduct Ribbon (all three of which appeared among Sgt. Bernstein's personal effects) Staff Sergeant 2. Our search for information as to whether Boleslaw Juchniewicz ever served in the I.I.S. Army is pending.
