During the summer of 1950 there was a considerable amount of Communist agitation in Lhasa, where the authorities have been pursuing an anti-Ci inese and anti-Commmnist policy. 2. :.:any Chinese merchants ware expelled from Lhasa and sent to Gh?angtu (97-07, 31-10). 3. The Southwest China La ilitary Control Commission has a .tablished an organization known as the Tibet Service Corps (V with headquarters in Lic.hiarlg (100?-15, 26-51), western Yunnan Province. One hundred students who have successfully completed a Communist indoctrination course in runming, have been recruited for this unit. It is believed that the purpose of the Tibet Service Corps is the preparation of cadres for administrative auties in Tibet.
