'.., After the war the Russians dismantled all Polish installations for the
production of synthetic gasoline, but at the present time recongt.ruction
has been started on plants at Dwory (Q51/!74) and possibly at Politz (Police)*
Work on the Dwory plant was begun in 1947, and it was Initially planned.
that the plant would produce 200,000 tons of synthetic gasoline per year.
However, the failure of Eastern Germany to deliver the required . .chinery
forced a considerable cut in plans, and one source states that not more
than 20f,000 tuns a year can be produced in the plant at present,
2. A generally reliable source says that the plant at P6litz (O IQ57)
has been rebuilt and now produces sore gasoline. About 4,000 workers
have been engaged in rebuilding the plant during the past year, and
machinery will be delivered from Eastern Germany.. It .a not known
how much machinery has been received.
1, Little information is available on other plants in Poland, but it is
known that at Konin (P53/018), a plant is being planned which will
produce 50,000 tons of synthetic gasoline per year. It is expected
that machinery will be delivered from Eastern Germany during the
latter half of 1950, and full production is not expected before the
latter half of 1951,9 At Luban (Lauban.05220) in Silesia a plant
Is planned with a production rate of from 20,000 to 25,000 tons a year,
but production will probably not begin 'until 11951, The raw material
used In synthetic oil production is generally brown coal,,
