I, In the summer of 1948, the Russians placed an order for about 75
metal weaving machines for very fine sire screen with the firm of
Emil Jger g Neustadt/aria,. The model ordered by the Russians had
the firm designation BFL, operating at 1 to 1,5 hp, and capable of
reeving very fine. screen with up to 20,000 meshes per square centi-
rr?eter from nickel wire with diameters of 0.03 and 0,,02 mm?
2., The order was completed by June-July 2.9490 Because the machines
were produced in great haste, the quality was riot satisfactory,
and the Russians tried to sell the machines in Western Germany and
Holland., A few. were sold, while the remainder was finally shipped
to the USSR,.
3. At the end of 1948, Russian workers were sent to the Eilhauer plant
in Neustadt/Orla., the Baderschnolder & Lenzner works In Zeulenroda,
and to Heerbrandt in Raguhn for training in metal weaving, They
were under the supervision of the Russian engineer Spiritanov, and
left with him upon completion of the training period.
I., The DFL model can operate with different reeds, Their data are as
f ol1ovs: Total height, including the metal frame, 54, 60, 65, or
75mm; the "Sprung" (free opening without frame) is 25r, 30, 35 or
40mm; the breadth for all is 7mm., The wires are made of special
steel of 0.03 mm in diameter. The reeds are of different lengths;
a reed of 660 mm has 8,380 wires,.,
