by a unit equipped with singles-engine aircraft from the

3 The field was not occupied but guarded by two Ger. ans. There
were no solid buildings or li htina facilities, only some
cantonment buildings. s-1?ccording to the guards, the lc.st

4. T h- wrecks of two aircraft of the following type were at a
corner of the field: 'ar? projecting engine, no propeller,
wings relatively short, fuselage made of plywood as far as
the cockpit , ? rather high rudder assembly, wide elevator
tai emb;y, landing; frear not retractable, struts far apart.
A round plate, five inches in diameter, fixed to the left
outer via l 1, in line with the cockpit, had the following; Rus-
sian inscription: oe:??ethod of pumping up landing gear: Turn
trap connoctin both systems when filling with air exceeding
50 atmospheric absolute pressured Close lever tightly after
filling."
