The Neurological Clinic of Cluj has been converted into a Communist training center for Greek children. Bootor'Cuptea, Secretary General of the Rumanian Ministry of Health, has undertaken temporarily the direction of the center. 2. Wounded Greek guerrillas are being treated in hospitals in Rumania, especially in Bucharest, Craiova and Brasov. Their treatment is super- vised by Soviet and Greek physicians. Fends are being raised all over Rumania on behalf of the Greek guerrillas. These funds serve to camouflage the great amount of economic aid which is being given to the guerrillas by the Rumanian Government. This aid con- eists of all sorts of war materiel and medical supplies. 4. It was announced that 6,500 to 7,000 so-called Rumanian volunteers have been. enlisted recently. Some of them are being trained at the Alpini training center at Predeal; others are in the military school at Ramnicul- Valcea, and still others in the infantry training center at Craiova. 5. The daily production of the Rumanian oil refineries runs up to 9,400 to 91)700 tons. This in a much lower production than before the war. Oo RUSGiail laborers from Bessarabia have recently been eeeloyed by th most important factories of Rumania. These laborers serve as supervisory groups for the prevention ofsabotage, which has occurred in the oil- producing areas of Rumania. 7. A large number of Soviet troops, belonging to various types of unite, arrived at Constaqa by sea between 15 April and l May 1949. Entire districts of Conetaqa, especially those around the port, were requisitioned for the accommodation of these troops. Private houses outside these dis- tricts have also been requisitioned by the Soviets for the same purpose. A part of this army, reinforced with batteries and anti-aircraft guns, went to Bulgaria. Such batteries and anti-aircraft guns have been placed also In Constar 1a along the Black Sea. . These weapons are destined for special labor units in the event of mar. These labor units have been trained for fighting Against air borne troops. 9. Spare parte for guns of all sizes and armor for small tanks are manu- factured at the Resita works. Launchers for 85 to 120 mm. mines are being manufactured in the industrial center of Cugir-Copsa MicA in Transylvania. 10. Airplane motors and artillery aiming devices are being manufactured at Brapv. Mines and ammunition are being manufactured in the city of OiAstie. Parts for guns of all sizes are being manufactured in Sibiu. 11. A new special training center for officers and non-commissioned officers was opened in Bucharest on 7 November 1948. Marxist, Leninist and Stalinist theory is taught in this school to approximately 1,000 officers and non-commissioned officers at one time. This is a one-year course.
