1. On 26 April 1949, a meeting of Yugoslav commercial representatives was
held in the office of Nikola LJUBISIC, Commercial Attache and Chief of the
Yugoslav Trade Delegation in Vienna. Present at the meeting were 1',iodrag
STANKOVIC, Assistant Commercial Attache, ACIPVVIC, Vienna director of the
Serbian sales organization Vivoz,, )ti-AJDANAC, Vienna director of the Serbian
Agricultural Association, and V,iOa POCKAJ, director of the Vienna office
of the General Administration for Slovene Fruit and Wine. LJUBS,SIC called
the meeting to announce that he had just received inst*ucti.ons from Belgrade
to raise fifty million schillings as quickly as possible. This stun was
needed to purchase metal products in Austria and Germany, particularly iron
rails and sheet iron, for completion of the Zagreb-Belgrade highway. Source
commented that., in view of to sales volume of Yugoslav products during
recent months, the Belgrade quest seems disproportionate and unattain-
able,
2. LJUBISIC revealed that the following items were available in Yugoslavia for
immediate sale to accumulate a part of the required fifty million schillings:

3. During the first week in May 1949, the Yugoslav Trade Delegation ob-
tained 6,000 tons of iron rails from USIA. During the preliminary
negotiations for these rails, LJUBISIC offered the schilling equivalent
of 38 dollars per ton, but the final sales price is not known,
4. During the later part of April 1949, Paul URBAN of Urban and Company,..
Vienna,offered the Yugoslav Trade Delegation ten carloads of Hungarian
sugar at four schillings per kilogram delivered ih Vienna with authoriz-
ed Austrian import license. At the same time he offered 15 carloads of
cocoa beans at 21 schillings per kilogra.7, f,opQ, 3uchs, Switzerland,
On 5 May URBAN offered the Yugoslavs on.e `million light bulb filaments
with glass fittings at 16 groachen apiece. It is not known whether or
not the Yugoslav Trade Delegation accepted any of these offers,
