Fran 4 September 1947, when their Organization was beened by the Cammunist regime, no contact existed among the mumbers; it is doubtful whether any successful illegal cam. mitten exiwts at the present date. Penetration and control have been so ocmplete by th3 Communist Secret Police that the leading members of this orgymization have no trust in anyone and their sole desire appears to be to find uses and means of leaving Bulgaria. 25X1X 15, a possibility exists of organizing among the op.lqvel personalities acme kind of =underground committee, they themselves are so frightened by Communist counter-measures employed that theywoull natwant to be a part of any such organisation. They male stereotype statement? thatif war broke out between Russia and the United States the people in Bulgaria vrculd rise up in mass against the Communist regime but they have no idea of where the leadership for such an, upriiing vmuld came fram. While they have heard of friction within the Communist Party in Bulgaria between Mescae.trained Dimitrov groups and rationalist Kolarae Communist grcups, they do not believe that the ro*Arcer group has the slightest chance of gaining the upper - hard. They claim that in September 1944, after Dimitrtv and Tito had reached ar agreement on the Pirin (Macedonia), the Cammunist penetrated MIRO was directed to fulfill that agreement. In 1946, the Communist Party in Ellgaria issued orders to the people of Macedonia to ball themselves Macedonians and not Bulgarians, and /MN was outlawed. Since the Tito C,minform split, VVROwas reactivated and stress was ,laid on an imlepement Macedonia under Bulgarian influence. 4WIC.LOTYCONTROL - U. S.
