to It is probable that the Communist-sponsored Congress for Peace and Democracy
will be postponed until May, according to Enrique Ramirez y Ramirez,
Secretary of Vicente Lombardo Toledano, and a leader of the Partido Popular
2c, Ramirez corroborated the statements made by another leader of the Partido
Popular, Victor Manuel Villasenor* when he reiterated that almost all the
local leftist leaders, especially those connected with the Partido Popular,
were devoting all their efforts to preparation for the July elections for
federal deputies and had not had any time to give.to the organization of the
conference
3. According to Ramirez the following group of well-known persons, many of 'them
world-famous in their respective fields, hFve made known their willingness to
attend the conference if invited to do so:
