according to a esl1-.placed Pakistan official, the Ismailia of Kashmir are
only lukewarm toward Pakistan despite their strong racial and religious ties*
This official also stated that the Kashmir Ismailia are highly degenerate
and would accede to any government; the Ismailia of the USSR are notoriously
pro-Communist. In spite of this pro-Commmtist element in the USSR, a
British merchant familiar with the area states that tbpre is no known Soviet
influence in the Chitral-Hunza area.

Asian Ismailia. which includes all the people of Hunsa, Ishkomen, Yah.Sin,
the - akhan district of Afghanistan, the Shugian valley of Russia, and the
Tadzhik areas of the Tashkurgau valley of China. He is about 1t5 years old,
and was educated at the Ismailia College in Peshawar. The Mir has one son,
