1. yaichengtzu airfield, which was constructed in 1942, is about six kilometers north..
west of the Paicbengtzu station (122-52, 45.-3?) on the north side of the Paicbengt2u-
Wanfyehmiao (122-01, 46-05) railroad.
2. The airfield is situated on a level plain and is approximately 1,500 meters square.
The soil is mixed with pebbles and sustains a grass which grows to a height of four
inches. Sixteen to twenty inches below the surface of the field there is a stone
bed formed by a river that formerly flowed through the area. The field can with-
stand the heaviest rainfall common to the region without becoming muddy.
3. There is a paved runway on the airfield that is at least 1,000 meters long. The
field was formerly used by a Japanese light bombing regiment. There are seven to
nine hangars, a repair factory, a radio station, and living quarters on the south
side of the airfield. 3lectricity is supplied by the Paicheugtzu lower plant.
