USE OF TRAINED INTELLIGENCE ANALYSTS
1. A regiment of the Mongolian People's Republic Army, with a strength of approximately
3,700 officers and enlisted men, arrived at Solmn (121-24, 46-41) from Choibalsan
(also known as Bayou Tumen and Kerulen 114-30, 48-04) on 9 January 1948. The
regimental commander, Lo-tzIu- UP
eh'i-la ( '. $ St ? Losuchilov), is a Soviet
General Major. C2A Yen (41,,)t ), a native of Chahar Province, in his interpreter.
CIA Ten speaks Chinese, ulongof and Russian.
2. This regiment is composed of three battalions and has four companies to a battalion,
four platoons to acompany and four squads to a platoon. Ordnance, medical, supply,
adjutant and political departments are attached to the regiment. Each of these
departments has a thirty--two-man complement with the exception of the political
department which has only nine.
3. One of the squads observed consisted of twenty men including a squad leader, assistan.

4. Seven Soviet M-31 (?) type tanks arrived at Wangyehmiao (122-01, 46-05) on
18 January 1948. Mongol (? MPR) soldiers overate six of these tanks, the other is
operated by two Soviet soldiers. These M-31 type tanks have an artillery turret on
the left side and are armed with 99mm. cannon.
