1., During February 1947, Meier & Weichelt, Leipzig, produced fifty-
four tons of "Temperguss"'for caterpillar tracks intended to be
used exclusively on T-34 tanks 4 A new order, amounting to 4.5
million marks, was placed by the Russians and production of fifty
to fifty-five tons was anticipated in March.
2? Employee strength at Meier & Weichelt remained at 3,300 during
February.
Throughout the winter of 1946-1947, the Meier & Weichelt plant
suffered no shortages of coal or electricity,.
