Dear Ms. Light:
Your memorandum of 10 May 1984 forwarded to us two documents
with the request that we review their classification status. The
documents are listed as items #3 and #6 of Mandatory Review case
NLK-84-111 from JFK Library. We have reviewed the two documents
with the following results:
Item #3 is a memorandum for The President from Director Murrow
of the United States Information Agency, dated 9 March 1962,
classified SECRET. This memorandum contains information of
concern to CIA which we have determined must remain classified
at SECRET under Section 1.3(a)(4) of Executive Order 12356.
Item #6 is a memorandum for McGeorge Bundy from Director Murrow
of the United States Information Agency, dated 5 April 1963,
classified TOP SECRET. This memorandum contains information of
concern to CIA which we have determined must remain classified
but may be downgraded to SECRET under Section 1.3(a)(4) and (5)
of Executive Order 12356.
The two documents and the JFK Library mandatory review request
are returned to you herewith as requested. We have added our classi-
fication review stamp showing our action.
