1. Increase of women in uniform in the Hungarian cities. : ince Lht- spring ol. 1953
the number of women in uniform to be seen in the citi ti h-,,uw increased greatly.
Many Hungarian female officers as well as an increasing numbs r of female : VH
(Political Police) officers can be observed in the street,. These female officers
are being trained at an offioers$ training school in Bart6k .1B la ?treet. The
women members of the VH are being trained at the lztsnhegyl street officers
training school in several sequestered villas.
2. The training is extremely strict in both schools, and tnc wo. icn a.a not anlosld
to leave their quarters during the whole period of their training.
3. Rost of the mail carriers are women, as well as the major part of traffic police,
fire fighters, taxi drivers. Only female conductors are hired for the trralrrwwa25X1
