All public traffic on`the Karow-Prora road is restricted. Only during the height of the vacation season can the read be used at all and then only at specified hours and at the vactioner's own risk. The "Walter Ulbricht"-rest home for NVA officers is located immediately adjacent to the NVA installations but outside of the barbed-wire enclosure. 4. The NVA military units based on the eastern portion of REgen do not, as far as is kncwn, have any responsibility for the defense of the Jasmunder Bodden submarine base now being constructed by the East German Navy, Seestreitkr&fte-NVA, on the western shore of the Jasmunder Bodden on the Island of R gen. The Navy will be responsible for the protection of the submarine base and the NVA units on the eastern shore of Rbgen are a part of the general fortifleation of the eastern pcrticn of the island.
