(a) Regimental headquarters and three battalions (with about 1,200 men
in all) are located in the Infantry Barracks, also known as the
Damjanich Barracks, situated on Nagr1illoi Street in Nyiregyhaza.

Support battery, with four 76.2 mm. field guns.
(c) The mortar companies are armed with caliber 120,, 82,rand-50 mm,
mortars.
The machine gun companies have light machine guns of the Degtyarev type
and Maxim machine guns.
(2) Motorized Infantry Regiment
Miskolc.
The headquarters and subordinate units are stationed in Miskolc in the
Rudolf and Szepesi Barracks. Strength and armament are similar to those of
the Nyiregyh&za regiment.
(3) Motorized Infantry Regiment, Kisvarda.
Headquarters and dependent units are stationed in Kisvarda.
(4) Motorized Artillery Regiment
Idvirezvhaza.
Headquarters and subordinate units are stationed in Nyiregyhaza in an
installation consisting of wooden barracks on the highway that leads to
Kisvarda. (During the war, this post was a military hospital.)
(a) Organization and Armament.
1 Group: it is made up of three batteries. Each battery is armed with
four 76.2 mm. pieces.
2 Group: also of three batteries. Each battery is armed with four
122 mm. howitzers.
3 Group: organization and armament similar to those of the 2 Group.
Each group also has three sections of antiaircraft machine gunners; each
section is armed with two heavy 12.7 mm. antiaircraft machine guns. The
overall strength of the regiment is about 1,000 men.

(5) Medium Caliber Mortar Regiment,
Isvire~vhaza.
(a) Headquarters and dependent units are stationed in Nyiregyhaza in the
former Transportation Barrack, which is now known as the Artillery Barrack
of the General Gusev Barracks. Strength: about 700 men. The former

Huszar and Transportation Barracks on Vasut utca of I+byiregyhaza are
separated from one another only by a barbed wire fence, and today are
known under the name of General Gusev Barracks.
(b) The regiment is organized and armed as follows:

and one antiairdraft machine gun platoon with six 12.7
mm. heavy antiaircraft machine guns.
2 Mortar Group: with three batteries, each armed with four 120 mm. mortars,
and one heavy antiaircraft machine gun platoon with six
12.7 mm. heavy antiaircraft machine guns.
Regimental Motor Pool.
24 Gaz trucks with two axles and a capacity of 2.5 tons

1 mobile shop truck
1 tank truck
1 radio car
2 passenger cars and 4 jeeps
12 motorcycles, of which 6 have sidecars
(6) Mixed Motorized Regiment,
Nvireyhaza. 25X1
(a) Headquarters and subordinate uni s with an overall strength of 800 men,
are stationed in the former Husz Barrack which, together with the
Transportation Barrack, is now part of the General Gusev Barracks.
(b) Armored battalion, armed with twelve T-34/85 tanks and six JS-122 tanks;
(c) Battalion of self-propelled guns, armed with ten SU-85 and five SU-122
self-propelled guns;
(d) Motorized reconnaissance company, equipped with 8 Stalinets scout cars.
(e) 1 Reconnaissance Battalion,
The headquarters and dependent units, with the strength of about 400
men, are stationed in the Huszar Barrack of Nyiregyhaza.
The battalion is made up of the following units:
Armored company, equipped with ten T-34/85'tanks;
Scout car company, with 12 Stalinets scout cars;
Motorized assault company, consisting of:
one submachine gun platoon; one mortar platoon; one antitank platoon.

This group has .n Qverall strength of about 350 men, It is stationed in the
Antiaircraft (Legva in Barracks)of Miskolc* It has three batteries, each
with four 76.2 mn. guns.
(9) Antiaircraft Group.
(a) It has a strength of about 21}0 men and is stationed in the Tokaj pioneer
camp,
(b) Organization and Armament:
1 Battery, with four 57 mm. antiaircraft guns
2 Battery, with four 37 mm, antiaircraft guns
3 Battery, with six 12.7 mm. antiaircraft machine guns

It has a strength of about 350 men; the headquarters and the dependent units
are stationed in the Tokaj pioneer camp.
(11) Signal Battalion.)
It has a strength of about,250 men; the headquarters and the units are
stationed in barracks on the Nyireiph ,za airfield.
(12) Approximately 35 to 40 percent of the personnel of the various units listed
above is made up of recruits of the 1933 class. The units of this division
were brought up to full strength last year at the end of the maneuvers and
with the arrival of the new recruits,

Part of the headquarters of the division is stationed in the building of the
Army Corps on Peterfalva Street, and part in the Huazr Barracks on Nyugati Street.

The division has not been brought up to full strength as yet. It is made up of
the following units:
(1) Motorized infantry regiment, stationed at Debrecen, in the infantry
barracks;
(2) Motorized infantry regiment, stationed at Mezotur;
(3) Motorized infantry regiment, stationed at Karcag;
(4) Motorized artillery regiment, stationed at Debrecen in the Artillery
(Tozer) Barracks;
(5) Antiaircraft regiment of two groups, stationed at Debrecen in the Anti-
aircraft (Legvedelmi) Barracks;
(6) Reconnaissance battalion, stationed at Debrecen in the Armored (Pancelos)
Barracks;
(7) Motorized transport group, stationed at Debrecen, in the Transportation
Barracks;
(8) Signal Battalion, stationed at Debrecen, in the HusAx Barracks.
3. Artillery Regiment
Headquarters of this regiment is located in the Vilmos Barracks. on Ribert Karoly
Street. It is made up of two groups, and each group has three batteries. Each
battery is armed with four 152-an guns. All the artillery regiments armed with
guns whose caliber is in excess of 122-nm. are no longer part of infantry divisions,,
but belong to army corpsAertillery. It is thought that the above regiment belongs
to the Ercsi Artillery Brigade. 25X1
4. Border Guard. U'it.Ictons_m
a, At Kistelek, (Y7/000), on the Szeged-Kiskua26le ' State highway, there is
stationed a battalion of AVH border guards, which is undergoing training
with a strength of about 300 men. This battalion is subordinate to the district
headquarters of the border guards at Szeged.
b. A border guard battalion is stationed at Mandok (R4.9/K99).
