1.. Dr. Bittner (fnu), who works in the Crystal Laboratory of V. Carl Zeiss,
Jena, under the directionnof Dr. Rebentisch (fnu), has been trying since
March 1953 to grow synthetic quartzes which, among other things, can
be used as oscill

on quartzes.
Bittner has ao far succeeded in growing synthetic quartzes about the
size of a walnut, Because of their smallness these quartzes can only be used
for high frequencies. Bittner is still trying to grow larger quartzes.
