1. Railroad station. There are four railroad lines, three passenger an one
freight. Two lines lead to Lodz, one to Poznan and the freight line leads
from Ostrov through.Kaliez to Lodz. This freight line does not enter the
station but passes two kilometers south of it. The station faces Upper
Silesia Street on the southwestern edge of the town.
2. Old customs building in the center of Nowy Swiat Street.
3. Barracks for- the 25P~i veto Artillery Regiment. The army too over t~iis
building in 1937.
4. Another barracks building for the 25th Field Artillery Regiment.
5. This is the town's principal square, called the 11th of November Square. Tr
city hall, which is about 100 x 75 meters, of stone construction with five
stories, is,erected within this square. On the top floor there is a museum.
6. Main post office. Telephone and telegraph offices are also located in this
four.-story stone building. Telephone offices are located on the second
floor.
7. Old hydroelectric power plant adjacent to the Prosna River. This supplies
power to only a few buildings

8. New hydroelectric power plant which erected in 1931. It is adjacent to the
Proses River about three and one-half kilometers south of the city. In addition
to Ra7.iszb this=plant sepplies power to.Turek 52?02'R 18?30'Z) Ostrov and
Warta (51. k2'll, 18?37'E) and to one other town.
9. The Cosserciiil Bank. Fivo `stsrles, etene consUmetion. The public library is in
the back part of this building.
10. The Polish Bank. This ba c is under the direct supervision of the government.
11. Theater
12. Water Tower. stone construction, about 75 meters high.
13. Adam A,z .k. High school and college.
14. Bus station for inter-city busses.

work here. City police headquarters are in this building as ve1l as military
police headquarters.
18. Evaagelics1 Church. Before World War I this was a Jesuit Church.
19. Headquarters for the 29th Infantry Regiment.
20. County prisg*.' An old five-story stone,baildiug.. Many silk worms are raised
on the prided farm.
21. Plac Dekerts. A public square used as a farmer's market.' Market days are
Tuesday and Friday.
22. Volunteer fire department. About three hundred men in the department.

rebuilt during that year.
