Approved Fc elease 2002/11/20 : CIA-RQP81T00 000100010064 II ITA&Y?SCIE NTITIC DIY ION MISSION The MilitaryScitrntific Division will be responsible for analyzing HTAUTOMAT mat rials and all types of photograpiy, in conjunction with all other intelligence source materials, to produce photographic intelligence in support of CIA in its role of coordinator of intelligence collection and production. The Military-Scientific Division is charged with the following specific obje f responsibility in support of priority national intelligence 2. Long-Range Aircraft 3. Nuclear Energy 4. Electronics 5. Chemical and Biological Warfare 6. Military Installations and Equipment 7. New Developments in Military-Scientific Fields. as set forth in DClns No. 4/3 and 4/6-. Guided Missiles FUNCTIONS Within its assigned areas of responsibility, the Military-Scientific Division shall: 1. Provide immediate photographic intelligence support. 2. Conduct photographic intelligence research in assigned military and scientific fields, and develop and produce research and recognition aide. 4. Conduct and/or participate in meetings with qualified engineering, scientific and military consultants in producing the highest quality intelligence for the realization of priority national intelligence objectives. 5. Provide lectures and demonstrations in support of CIA internal training programs. 6. Utilize photographic interpretation and other special techniques to evaluate and achieve maximum exploitation of all intelligence source material. Assist in the pre ration of requirements for procurement of intelligence photography and HTAUTOMAT material, and provide evaluations of such materials. S. Assist in the development of photographic interpretation techniques and equipment for maximum exploitation of photographic materials. 9. Represent CIA and HTAUTOMAT at conferences and other meetings requiring representation of military and scientific photographic intelligence. 10. Provide specialized personnel in support of other iiT.
