1. Early in March 1950 the Canton Military Control Corimission sent YTH Tung
( J ,) and SHEIT Pt an to Hong Kong to purchase 2,000.000 gallons
of gasoline fror the Asiatic Petroleum Company and the Texas Company. The
first shipment of 3.000 5a-gallon drums was to have left Hong Kong for Canton
about 13 March in ttm lots:
a. Lot One, 2,000 gallons, traveling via Shihchi (113-22, 22-30) and Macao,
handled by Ta Te (,X, Transvortation Connany, Canton.
b. Lot Two, 1,000 gallons, traveling frori Shenchuan (114-08, 22--32) via
the Taiping (113-41, 22-49 7) high%roy. handled. by the South Asia Transpor-
tation Comoa,rly, 131 Des Voeux Road, Hong Kong.
2. On 18 March 3,500 55-gallon drums of gasoline and lubricating oil arrived in
Canton from Hong Kong via Macao. On 19 March the shipment was forwarded to
Changsha by rail.*
