1. In response to your memorandum of 13 November 1952 on the
above subject, a complete review was made of the pay accounts of staff
employees stationed in- As a result of this review the following
information is furnished:
a. There are five individuals who are not receiving salary
differential, three of whom are believed to be medical employees.
The reason for non- ayment is that no cable advice of their date
of arrival as been received in Finance Division. As
you are aware, cable information
be furnished Headquarters which is the authority for initiating
payment of differential and post allowances if applicable. How-
ever, we have initiated a cable requesting this information and
upon receipt of the reply, necessary adjustments of their pay
account will be made.
b. We know of no reason why the individuals are not re-
ceiving advice on their pay since change notices are pouched
to the station each pay period. However, it may be assumed that
the remoteness of some individuals from the main base may have
some effect on their ability to receive the desired information.
If the latter is the cause, we believe the station should take
necessary action to rectify the situation.
