UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT SALARY TABLES
To: Heads of Departments and Independent Establishments.
Salary Table No. 34 will presently be issued for the use and
information of those officers and employees of the Executive Branch
of the Government concerned in the preparation, certification, and
payment of civilian payrolls and pay vouchers. The table has been
prepared to give effect to the provisions of 5.622 (enacted by the
Congress October 19, 1951) when it is approved, and the Revenue'Act
of 1951, Public Law 183, approved October 20, 1951*
Not later than November 5, 1951, departments and establishments
shall submit requisitions through regular administrative channels.
to the Public Printer on Standard Form No. 1, specifying "General
Accounting Office Salary Table No. 34", for such quantity thereof
as may be needed, in order that all requisitions submitted may be
combined and the table printed in one edition.
Salary Table No. 34 will be about 8 by 102 inches in size,
will consist of approximately 76 pages, and will include schedules
for 40, 44, and 48 hour weeks, as well as the salary deductions
applicable both to those employees under the Civil Service Retire-
ment System and those subject to the provisions of the Social Se-
cuirity Act Amendments of 1950 (F.I.C.A, deductions).
Prior to the issuance of Salary Table No. 34 there will be
issued as a special service, in order to simplify computations
under the retroactive feature of 5.622, a supplementary table
covering the salary increase o resulting from said law. No
