It has been ascertained that the following were also present at'the mani- festation held in the Quito suburb of Cotocollao on 3,October 1953 in honor of Pedro SAADrl Dr. Carlos CUEVA Tamariz,2 Socialist Party member, Rector of the University of Cuenca and acting Senator; CUEVA's two sons;3 and Dr. Mario A. VEINTIMILLA, second alternate ("suplente"') for Minister of Govern- ment Camilo PONCE (who is also a Senator) as Functional Senator for Agricul- ture in the Sierra region. 2. VEINTIMILLA, described as an elderly man from Cuenca, spoke at the gathering. He stated that he was too old to take an active part in the Communist move- ment, but that he anticipated the coming of a world-wide Communist'revolution, and he hoped that it would come soon.
