1. The Federazione Gioventu Comunista (FGC; Communist Youth Federation) of
Trieste has organized a Triestine Committee for the World Youth Festival
which is scheduled for the first two weeks of August in Bucharest.
2. On 1 June 1953, Ermenegildo Campagna, responsible editor of VU-nits era a
and a former paid activist of the pro-Cominform Communist Party of Trieste,
addressed a high-level section meeting of important section leaders, poli-
tical secretaries of cells, and a select number of paid activists of the
Party's Communal Committee in Muggia. He issued the following instrla.ctione,
to be passed on to members of the FCC:
a. A collection of clothing should be taken up for Korean children; The
. clothing will be delivered to delegates at the Festival.
b. A contest should be organized and the winners sent to the Festival.
c. A delegation of ten youths from Trieste, plus those who win prizes in
the contest, will attend the Festival.
d. A Stalin fund should be instituted for the Festival.
Comment.- According to another document, Davide Pescatori,
ecre ary of the PG'C in Trieste, attended the session of the preparatory
commission for the Fourth World Youth Festival in Bucharest held in March.
