(FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) The central administration of the Foundries and Machine zdiistries Ministry was located in the building of the former Finance Insti-Wte- Center (P4nzintAeti Koezpont), Szabads .g. t6r 5/6, Budapest V. On the second floor of this building were the offices of the Minister, Istvan KQSSA, and all of the Deputy Ministers, with the exception of the Deputy Minister for MetEllurgical Enterprises;: Istvan KOMJATHY. I recall that the Machine Industry Division and the Transportation Industry. Division (of the production branch) and the Production Division (of the administrative branch) were also located in this building. The ministryts kitchen was'located on the seventh floor of the building. From this kitchen, under special security precautions, meals were transported to the Medium Machine Industry next door, which did not have a kitchen of its own F7 I 25X1 2 The second building occupied by the Foundries and Machine Industries Ministry adjoined the main building and faced on Teleki Pal utca 21. This six-story building housed the following administrative divisions: the Materials and Goods Distribution Division (Anyag es Aruforgalmi Foeosztaly), the Main Bookkeeping Department for Enterprises (VallalatiFoekoenrveloeseg), the Legal Department (Toervenykiegeszitt Oszt&ly),. the Technical Development Division (Mueszaki Fejlesztgsi Foeoszt&ly) and the TVork Affairs Division (Munkauegyi Foeosztaly). 3. The third building of the Ministry, adjoining the above, was located at Arany Janos utca 25. It had four stories. The office of EOMJATHY, Deputy Minister four Metallurgical Enterprises, was -located in_. this building, Also the following production branch divisions were. located there: the Iron Metallurgy Division(Vaskohasszati Foeosztaly)- the High Temsion Power Division (Eroesaramu Faeosztaly) _the- Communications Industry Division (Hiradastechnikai Foeos.ztaly).,. and . the Mac ine Tool Industry Division (ft ,Sze,r1V&-ri Foeosztaly), The Guszev t.ca building also housed the Research Institute (lutato ins-tezet) of the Mining and Power (Banya ea Ener iauegyi Minis:~terium), which contained valuable equipment too dirfieit to move Visitors were required to show special passes, issued for a definite period of time, to enter the buildings. of ' the Foundries and Machine Industries Ministry. Visitors also had. to show an identification document with photograph. All visitors. passed through a reception office where the times of entrance and departure were recorded. Kier' try. employees were required to show permanent passes, with photograph on one side and date of validity 'oat the other. -side, to the. guard when,enteri.ng .the. Ministry buildings. They received .a small aluminum disc .from the guard, which they had to surrender when leaving the building. Officials could leave the buildings-when they pleased,'but typists, stenographers and charwomen,coul.d not leave during working hours without special permission ?E*mployeee. had to .be careful not let their passes expire. The pass'e6 bad to be:'-re'- newed'every three to six months.
