1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS AN SA-2 SAM SITE
AS IMAGED ON LOW LEVEL DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY.
2. REMARKS:
ON I THE FIRST SAM SITE IN NORTH
VIETNAM (HANOI SAM SITE B17-2) WAS OBSERVED ON PHOTO-
GRAPHY. THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF 1965 THE NUMBER OF
SAM SITES OBSERVED INCREASED TO SIXTY-FOUR. SITES 65.
THROUGH 93 WERE FIRST OBSERVED IN FEBRUARY 1966, AND
SITES 94 THROUGH 100 IN MARCH 1966. SITES 10, 18,
AND 50 HAVE SINCE BEEN ABANDONED AND PROBABLY RETURNED
TO AGRICULTURE, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF KNOWN SAM
SITES IN-NORTH VIETNAM TO NINETY-SEVEN.
3. MISSION READOUT:
BLUE SPRINGS( (REVEALS HAIPHONG
SAM SITE A27-2 LOCATED 3.2 NM WEST OF IIAIPHONG. THE SITE
CONSISTS OF AT LEAST FIVE OCCUPIED REVETTED LAUNCH POSITIONS,
AND A REVETTED CENTRAL GUIDANCE AREA CONTAINING A PROBABLE
