moscow tv: observer on u. s. veto of un draft resolution
1d040137
moscow domestic television service in russian 1700 gmt 3 aug 83
((from the vremya A.wscasti political observer (arid
seyful-mulyukov video talk))
((text)) the united states has vetoed the security council's draft
resolution which demands that an end be put to Israel's repressions
and lawlessness on occupied arab lands. the Washington politicians
invariably behave as protectors of crimes perpetrated by
zionists on arab lands.
tel aviv's reaction to the voting in the security council was
unequivocal. the u.s. veto had been received in Israel as
l
approval for its policy of aggression on the west bank
of the river Jordan and the gala sector where 1,500.000 arab
palestinians are suffering under the yoke of occupation.
quite recently president reagan had practically sanctioned the
further building of israeli settlements in the river Jordan valley.
having obtained the support of the white houses the tel aviv
rulers are carrying out the colonization of the palestinian lands
at a furious rate. many arab towns and settlements of the west
bank are literally surrounded by the israeli military settlements.
pogrom organizers from among ultra-wing zionist organizations are

the bosses in that area. such thugs, wearing masks, had
carried out an armed attack on the arab students of the muslim
college in the town of al khalil where about 40 persons were killed
or wounded. when these murderers left having carried out their
black deeds, the Israeli command had sent hundreds of soldiers to
al khalil and blockaded the town by having introduced there a
curfew. the crime was completed by begin's soldiers. they
killed the arab girl in nabulus where a protest demonstration
took place against the zionist crimes.
the aggressors sweep away the houses of the indigenous population
with tanks and bulldozers, they seise their gardens and fields,
and water sources.
emulating the south african racists, the Israeli authorities
are hatching plans aimed at creating special reservations for the
arab population. today you may be placed in a racial isolation
area but if you protest you can find yourself in a concentration
camp. this is the behavior of the Israeli aggressors in southern
lebanon where the ansaw death camp had been set up. they would
like to spread this practice also to the west bank of the river
Jordan.
we must fill these territories with our colonies, then the arabs
would simply become cockroaches swarming at the bottom of a bottle.
this infamous statement by rafael eytan, former chief of the Israeli
general staff, expresses the essence of the misanthropic policy
of Israel on occupied arab territory.
the towns on the west bank of the river Jordan are fill with
wrath. mass scale strikes, protest demonstrations, resistance
against the aggressors are assuming a nationwide nature.

the arab people of palestine are waging a brave struggle for
their national rights which is supported by the entire progressive
mankind.
and so when the security council had worked out a
resolution demanding that an end be put to israel's lawlessness
on occupied lands, tel aviv's strategic ally -- washington -- once
again come to its aid.
the world's public regards these u.s. actions as a fresh
,manifestation of the anti-arab imperialist policy. the voting
in the security council has once again revealed the true-essence
of the policy of the white house in the near east.
