Dear General Prather,
I am writing to request the assistance of the OJCS Visual
Recording Facility.
Dr. Richard S. Beal, Special Assistant to the President for
National Security Affairs and Senior Director for Crisis
Management Systems and Planning, has agreed to a videotaped
interview, and I am eager to record his thoughts on warning and
the policy making process. The interview will be classified no
higher than SECRET and should run for about 50 minutes. I am
confident the tape will be highly beneficial to the defense and
intelligence communities.
Informal coordination with Mr. David Lake indicates that the
OJCS Visual Recording Facility's schedule will permit taping on
29 December 1983. I will be most grateful for your a roval for
